Jonathan Ammons

Jonathan Ammons is the associate director of the New York Office of Public and International Affairs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he represents the Church at the United Nations and to the broader diplomatic and religious communities in New York. He
currently serves as president of the NGO Committee on Freedom of Religion or Belief and on the Board of Governors of the Religion Communicators Council. Jonathan was also recently elected as a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations. His previous work includes government, interfaith, and community relations outreach at the Church’s global headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, where he oversaw state legislative outreach efforts. He has served as deputy chief of staff in the Utah House of Representatives and as a senior policy advisor to the speaker of the House. He earned a BA in Humanities from Brigham Young University (Provo, Utah, USA) and is completing an MA in Government at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, Maryland, USA). Jonathan lives in New Jersey with his wife, Bree, and four energetic children.
